2019-2020 Projects:

Y.O.R.S. raises money through your generous donations, grant applications, and partnering with local businesses to put on fundraising events. Currently we have projects on the go, and recently finished projects. Check out what we are up to and how you can get involved. We believe that everyone benefits from outdoor recreation, and that raising money while setting an example for local youth is the best way we can engage our community.

Active Projects:

Annual General Meeting

We are having our annual general meeting in the new year. If you are interested in attending please contact yorscoordinator@hoodooadventures.ca for more information. It is open to the public and our amazing board of directors will be there.

2019 Grant Season Is Coming!

Every grant cycle we apply for private & government funding so that we can hire summer staff, and subsidize more outdoor recreation programs for our local schools. Keep any eye on our active project page & social media for more information on grants we are awarded!

Recently Finished Projects:

The Elevation Series
The Elevator & Ski To Tree were hosted by Hoodoo Adventures in March! Local athletes and adventure seekers raced in kayaks, on bikes, snowshoes, nordic skis, and downhill skis all over the Okanagan to support local youth. They raised over $1000 to support outdoor programming
Vancouver Mountain Film Festival

We hosted the Vancouver Mountain Film Festival at Cannery Brewing this spring. Local families and adventurers came out to see the latest in adventure sport films and support local youth with all net proceeds going to YORS.

Santa Rec Run

This year RADEC Group helped us light up the lakeshore and raise over $2000 for local schools and youth to get outside. These funds will be available for the schools to do climbing, kayaking, and leadership programs for their students. Just contact yorscoordinator@hoodooadventures.ca

Build A Bike Project

Fall of 2018 Hoodoo Adventures hosted several corporate team building events and local businesses opted to do the Build A Bike Program. While using their teamwork and developing camaraderie, these local business built bikes for the Youth Outdoor Recreation Society.

YORS has since donated these bikes to local organizations such as the South Okanagan Women In Need Society & The South Okanagan Boys & Girls Club. We want to empower all people and organizations to help get local kids outside. Thank you again to all the organizations involved.
