“An indoor (or backseat) childhood does reduce some dangers to children; but other risks are heightened, including risks to physical and psychological health, risk to children’s concept and perception of community, risk to self-confidence and the ability to discern true danger”
― Richard Louv, Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children from Nature-Deficit Disorder
About Our Team & Goals
We have a small team of highly committed people, who are passionate about youth recreation. They love the outdoors and each have unique backgrounds and interests.
Our long-term goal is to raise $35 per student in our community annually.
Learn About Our Current Projects
We have many short term, and long term goals. In order to reach these goals we have to apply for grants, fundraise, and partner up with businesses in our community. We have several projects on the go to reach our goals, and we are always looking for more.
Donate To Community Youth
We believe that any funds we generate are an important investment in our youth. Kids in the South Okanagan deserve the chance to experience the amazing wilderness around our valley. Thank you for your interest and any contribution you can provide to our youth.
Outdoor recreation has proven mental and physical health benefits to all ages, and can affect immense change in youth. Creating a connection with nature through recreation can improve problem solving skills, communication, self-
awareness and esteem, and respect through understanding of connectivity.
